With over 35 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other material transactions, he is skilled in dealing with transaction structuring, negotiating sale and purchase agreements and dealing with due diligence and disclosure. Having acted regularly for both buyers and sellers, he is well-placed to assess the issues which are likely to be significant for each party to a transaction.
He is the author of Sales of Shares and Businesses, first published by Sweet & Maxwell in 2006 and now in its fifth edition.


Since moving to the UK from her motherland Estonia in 2012, she has built a career in commercial property having worked in acquisitions and going concern business property sales and valuations.
She now works with commercial property clients advising on Embedded Capital Allowances and helping unlock available tax relief. She helps a variety of property owners from private investors and owner operators to multi-site corporate organisations.
Examples of the types of commercial property that qualify for a claim are care homes and childcare, hotels and holiday lets, warehousing and industrial, pubs, restaurants and retail properties; and many more. An average percentage of allowances found is 26.5% of the property purchase value which can be claimed.

Paul is a qualified project manager with extensive experience in land acquisition, planning and housing delivery. In 2010 Paul launched one of the first web based land appraisal solutions used by a number of the regional and national housebuilders. This experience established his career within the residential house building sector. Prior to Paul’s current role as director of a private investment property development firm he assisted in establishing the private sector arm of one of the North West’s most well known registered housing providers.

His career started at Lloyds Bank, where he worked for 24 years, with 10 being in the commercial property sector. After joining Finance 4 Business to set up the commercial mortgage desk and package complex bridging arrangements, Paul quickly established a lucrative division of the company and was promoted to Director.
Recognised for his ability to support our clients with even the most complex of cases, Paul provides clear value in combination with a first-class service to his clients.

Samuel is based on the Commonwealth island of Mauritius and practices in the UK, remotely, for Setfords Solicitors and Keystone Law which are headquartered in Guildford and London’s Chancery Lane. Since being in Mauritius he has developed local contacts including at the Economic Development Board of Mauritius and in the private legal sector. Samuel can assist with introductions to professionals based in Mauritius, as well as assisting with the UK side of any cross-border transactions. Mauritius is a thriving economy and is constantly looking for Foreign Direct Investment from the UK and elsewhere.

He is the Managing Director of Phillip Arnold Auctions, disposing of properties mainly in London, The Home Counties and The South east, although his firm does go further afield. They sell residential and commercial property aswell as land. Phil has been a regular face on BBC’s Homes Under The Hammer. His is also a past president of NAVA and still an active member of the committee.
Phil is a RICS registered valuer and carrys out Red Book valuations for Probate, Insolvency, Matrimonial, Staircasing and Asset management Purposes.
A keen sports fan, Phil plays Golf pretty poorly, Walking Football and has a passion for Chelsea Football Club and Cricket.
